A Night of Overwhelming Support For Animals In Need—The 28th Annual Fur Ball!

Last month, we catered the 28th Annual Fur Ball at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum for our friends and partners over at Morris Animal Refuge here in Philadelphia. Their mission is to find forever homes for animals in need. Here’s how we helped accomplish that this year thanks to 300+ animal lovers and a night full of celebration, libations, and delicious bites for every species in attendance.

Winning and dining for animals in need.

Did you know that Morris Animal Refuge is one of the oldest shelters in the nation, operating now for 150 years? That’s only possible because of the continued support of caring people, and this night had no shortage of those.

After a happy hour that gave attendees the opportunity to spend time with some of the refuge’s cutest residents, a silent auction took place at dinner time, which gave them the chance to win everything from Eagles tickets to trips to Puerto Rico. And what a huge success it was! At the end of the night, a total of $130,000+ was raised, with $25,000 going to critical animal care, which covers everything from medical procedures to the extra training that some animals require to become adoption ready.

A fun night that led to forever homes.

Funding the refuge for another year wasn’t the only success of the night. Remember how we mentioned that some of the refuge’s residents were in attendance? Well, many of them were adopted on-site! Including a litter of kittens with the names: Colin, Cara, Cassie, and Cleo.

A final word on the overwhelming support.

If you were one of the many attendees of the night, then we want to thank you for showing your support for these adorable yet vulnerable animals. And if you couldn’t attend this year, there’s still so much you can do.

Morris Animal Refuge finds forever homes for more than 1,000 animals every year, on top of their free community and animal welfare programs. So, If you have the time, consider volunteering. And If you have the space, consider adopting or fostering one of their many animals in need.
